Popis: | The aim of this research was to increase understanding of the relationship between family variables and measures of child welfare by using the conceptual framework which is being developed by Frank W. Young and Ruth C. Young (1969). The concept of differentiation was measured by ten household-level and nine individual-level indicators, and the concept of integration by twelve indicators. These were factor analyzed and the significant measures in each set used in a multiple regression with four measures of child welfare. Conclusions were that welfare status is not explained by the use of individual measures on their own; integration is an important family dimension to consider along with differentiation, and the wife's level of differentiation has a significant independent effect. |
