Popis: Eighteen patients with postpoliomyelitic involvement confined primarily to one lower extremity were subjected to plethysmographic studies in an attempt to confirm a clinical impression of vascular impairment in the involved extremity. The circulatory studies were not all consistent with the amount of shortening of the involved extremity. The authors believe that these inconsistencies are probably related to the time differential between the onset of poliomyelitis and the initial study. We do not believe that our results warrant any conclusions with regard to therapy, but we are planning and would encourage a similar study of cases of more recent origin.
