Popis: Indirect blood pressure measurement has been used for more than 100 years to determine arterial blood pressure in clinical routine. The extensive literature on the different methods (auscultatory and oscillometric) and their use is confusing, because the reports are contradictory in their assessment of the comparability of indirect and direct methods for blood pressure measurement (2, 3, 5–8, 11, 15, 16, 19, 20, 24, 27).
