Popis: | As the penetration of wind power in the traditional power system increases, with it have increased the challenges that are posed by the integration of wind driven induction generators to the power grid. In depth studies are needed to be performed in order to understand the effect of wind driven induction generators on power qualities and system stability. Unavailability of the wind everywhere particularly in laboratories and its variable nature makes it difficult to study the effect of wind integration on power systems. This paper presents the development of a wind turbine simulator to be used for evaluating and improving the wind energy conversion systems. To evaluate and improve the control schemes for induction generators it provides a controllable test environment which is difficult to achieve in case of an actual wind turbine. In this paper a wind turbine simulator is developed using a separately excited DC motor driven by an armature voltage control converter. |
