Popis: | The theory of thermionic‐field emission of electrons from metal surfaces with planar geometry has appeared in various publications. Specifically, the functional dependence of the normal, tangential, and total energy distributions of the emitted electrons and of their current density upon work function, temperature, and appied electric field has been established. In this paper, we present, graphically, a numerical analysis of these functions for several work functions, temperatures, and field strengths of experimental interest. |
