Publisher Summary This chapter focuses on the numerical simulations of magnetic domains in ferromagnetic microstructures. The modelization is based on the minimization of the total energy functional that adds the crystalline anisotropy, spin exchange, and magneto-static energy contributions. These fields have a fixed orientation upon elementary subdomains, which are separated by thin walls; this partition is known as “magnetic domains.” In this contribution, two recent extensions are examined: the numerical modelization of the assemblage of two-dimensional rectangular polycrystals with different oriented lines of easy magnetization. In particular, the distribution of the magnetization field according to these lines of magnetization and to the interfaces of the polycrystals, and the numerical simulation of the effect of nonmagnetic inclusions on the evolution of the walls under external magnetic excitation are observed. |
