Popis: | The critical temperature of superconductors is calculated for an arbitrary number of independent electron-electron interaction channels. Each channel is described by an appropriate dimensionless coupling constant, λ i , and a cutoff frequency, Ω i . The calculation is done using the Eliashberg equation in the weak limit (i.e. when the normalization constant Z ω ⋍1). Using the symmetry of the determinant, the exact value of its lowest eigenvalue, i.e. critical temperature, is found in the form of a continuous fraction. This result is in agreement with the well-known case for two channels. Its application to high- T c superconductors is discussed. |
