Popis:	The drilling contract will accurately reflect current market conditions but often at the expense of improperly matching the operator's objectives and the contractors incentives. During a period of rig oversupply, both operators and contractors must avoid using an inappropriate type of contract which may result in loss of drilling efficiency and financial inequities. This paper discusses the factors that should determine whether a well is drilled on daywork, footage or turnkey.
