Popis: Workers of automotive industry are at risk of occupational respiratory disease due to exposure to particulate air pollution. Morbidity of pneumonia increase likelihood of respiratory system impairment among this population. Aim of our study was to assess efficency of a workplace influenza vaccination funded by the automotive industry employer during 2012-2015 years. Methods: Employees of “MTW-HOLDING” volunteered to take part in this prospective, nonrandomised study. Demographic and health information, including morbidity of influenza-like pneumonia (ILP) and sick leave were collected via primary health care system. The cohort of subjects choosing to be vaccinated received the inactivated subunit influenza vaccine Influvac® (Abbott Biologicals B.V., The Netherlands). We compared ILP morbidity among employees of “MTW-HOLDING” between the year without vaccination (2009) and in the years with vaccination of about 50% employees (2012-2015). Results: Morbidity of ILP in 2009 year was 256 cases (0.11%). Whereas in the years with vaccination of about 50% workers (2012-2015) the rate of ILP was lower by 157-197%, p Table 1 Morbidity of influenza–like pneumonia among employees of “MTW-HOLDING” Conclusion: Workplace influenza vaccination of healthy workers of automotive industry is effective preventive measure for providing respiratory health.
