This book chapter presents several aspects concerning the wearable device for health remote monitoring by low-power wide-area network (LPWAN) technologies such as LoRa, Sigfox, Narrowband-Internet of things and long-term evolution Category M1 available for IoT devices. The wearable medical device for home self-monitoring must meet a few basic terms such as long life battery, to ensure a right balance between data accuracy and energy efficiency, and have fault tolerance. This work presents the wearable LPWAN devices for remote monitoring from a body-centric area network perspective, with particular emphasis on efficient algorithms for data-processing and high-level optimization for minimal power consumption and data accuracy. |
