Popis:	Photocatalysis is a rapidly expanding technology for effluent treatment. In this review, an insight into the theoretical aspects involved in the treatment is discussed. The effects of adsorption, intensity of light, pH, presence of anions and mechanistic pathway for pollutants removal have been specifically covered. An analysis of the available literature data has been made and general conclusions have been drawn on the above mentioned effects.
