Popis: COMPATIBILITY of solar energy collection, storage and supply with food processing energy demands was assessed using TRNSYS (Transient System Simulation Program). Effects of storage volume per unit collector area, and collector type (i.e., flat plate vs. parabolic trough) on thermal and economic feasibility were examined. The results indicated that parabolic trough collectors showed better thermal and economic performance over flat plate collectors. The storage volume to collector area ratio in the range of 40 L/m2 to 100 L/m2 did not affect the performance of the system considerably. However, with a storage volume to collector area ratio less than 40 L/m2, performances were considerably reduced.
