Since some years university and industry research in automotive systems have become strongly focused on cooperative driver assistance systems (Vehicle to X - V2X communication, consisting of Vehicle to Vehicle - V2V and to Infrastructure - V2I). Since the public funded project sim TD [1] and the announcements of car manufacturers during the IAA 2011 in Frankfurt / Main it is obvious that such systems will strongly penetrate the automotive market within the next decade [2]. However, such systems with the aim to improve save driving have three basic challenges: First, they must secure a save and stable communication between the desired information providers, second, each partner needs to know his precise position with a time stamp on a global scale and third the provided information needs to be absolutely reliable. Continental provides such a dedicated solution for the sensory needs of V2X systems, the “Motion Information To X Provider” - M2XPro. |
