Popis: A transistorized circuit is described for controlling the filament current in a surface ionization type mass spectrometer. The circuit works on the principle that variations in ihe filament current cause the light output from a small torch bulb to vary and these light variations are detected by a phototransistor and amplified to control the filament current. The controller maintains a constant rms current. (N.W.R.)
