Popis: | In this paper, we apply different spatial channel coding techniques, such as the Space Time Block Coding (STBC), the Vertical-Bell Laboratories Layered Space-Time (VBLAST), and Space Frequency Block Coding (SFBC), to the LTE downlink MIMO-OFDM transmission system. For this purpose, we use the Spatial Channel Model (SCM) described in the LTE standard for the case of Urban Microcell as the simulation channel model, in which the line of sight (LOS) case of propagation is considered. Moreover, we investigate the impact of the spatial correlation properties between transmitting and receiving antennas on the MIMO-OFDM system performance in terms of SER. By changing antenna element spacing, we can vary this channel correlation property and observe system behavior depending the spatial channel correlation. Simulation results indicate that the larger antenna element spacing is, the lower SER MIMO-OFDM system has, especially when enlarging the BS side element spacing. The lowest SER corresponds to the minimum of the channel correlation. The simulation results also show that SFBC is the spatial block coding scheme having the lowest SER performance. |
