Popis:	This paper describes how the design for the tubular steel arch bridge which crosses the River Tees Barrage has been developed from the original architectural concept. Decisions made during the design process are discussed, and insights into the unusual behaviour of the structure gained from detailed computer analysis are highlighted. Other structures associated with the Barrage and the fabrications and erection of the main bridge are described. (A)
