Popis: | Uveitic inflammation can lead to significant iris complications including iris atrophy and formation of synechiae. Synechiae are abnormal adhesions that may manifest as peripheral anterior synechiae or posterior synechiae. Both medical and surgical approaches can be utilized for treatment of synechiae. Steroids and mydriatic agents are mainstays of medical management. Intracameral tissue plasminogen activator can be helpful for treatment of acute fibrin and recently formed synechiae. Surgical options include goniosynechiolysis and synechiolysis utilizing a variety of surgical instruments. |
