Aim of the study: To evaluate the short-term outcome of patients with acute myocardial infarction undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting at the Heart Institute, Ho Chi Minh city. Patients and methods: Observational study in patients with acute myocardial infarction who underwent coronary artery bypass grafting from 1/11/2017 to 31/12/2020. The main outcome event was in-hospital death. Results: 166 patients (116 men and 50 women, mean age 63,0 ± 9,3 years) were included in the study. 23 patients had ST-elevation acute myocardial infarction and 143 patients had non-ST-elevation acute myocardial infarction. There were 6 in-hospital deaths (3,6%). Among factors not included in EuroSCORE II, heart rate on admission >90 bpm was related to in-hospital mortality (OR 6,78; KTC 95% 1,19-38,5; P = 0,031). Conclusions: In-hospital mortality in patients with acute myocardial infarction undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting at the Heart Institute was 3,6%. This result was similar to recent literature. Heart rate on admission was related to short-term outcomes |
