On Estimating a Series and Parallel Reliability in Case the Rayleigh-Pareto Distribution in Stress-Strength Model

Popis: In this paper we derive two mathematical formulas for the reliability system in the stress strength model when strength(Y) and stress(X) are independent based on Rayleigh-Pareto distribution. The first model is the reliability system for the series component R s = p(X 1 , Y 2 , Y 3 • •••••••, Y K ) and the second model is the reliability system for the parallel component R K = p(Xmax(Y 1 , Y 2 , Y 3 ••••••••, Y K ). Some estimation methods are used such as, maximum likelihood (MLE), least square (LS), and shrinkage (SH) methods. We compared these methods under mean square error (MSE) and mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) criteria based on the Monte Carlo simulation experiment. CSH estimator showed better performance compared to the other methods.
