Popis: | The Medical Department of a large international chemical company developed an Occupational Medicine and Health Protection Program to prevent occupational and other work-related disease. Important issues in this regard are Vision 2010 and so-called Centers of Excellence. Significant support for the program stems from the BASF Medical Information System. The respective integration of data and a model of disease causation are explained. Examples regarding the Centers of Excellence concern occupational dermatology, ergonomics, general health risk prevention, human toxicology and product stewardship, biomonitoring, and emergency medicine and disaster preparedness. |
