Popis: The Central African Republic (CAR) is the fifteenth most violent country in the ACLED dataset, with over 2,000 recorded events of political violence between January 1997 and September 2014. Almost 8,000 fatalities have occurred during this time, making it the fourteenth most fatal country in the dataset in this regard. However, violence has escalated sharply in recent years: the majority of these events occurred since the outbreak of the current conflict in the country in late 2012.
