Structure and phase composition of composite pellets based on the ALTEK heat-resistance aluminum alloy with boron-containing filler

Popis: | Composite pellets based on the ALTEK heat-resistant aluminum alloy (Al-Cu-Mn-Zr system) and reinforced with B4C particles in a volume fraction of ∼11% and 1–10 μm in size are produced by mechanical alloying. The pellet structure includes a significant amount of inclusions of the Al15(Fe, Mn)3Si2 phase, which have a globular shape and an average size of about 2 μm. It is suggested that both the inclusions and B4C can be considered a reinforcing filler. |
