Popis: | This paper analyses the performance of a dichroic mirror assisted free space optical system. When the direct view of the relayed laser beam axis and the receiver field-of-view gets obstructed, an optical reflector can be used to cast the relayed optical beam on the receiver through an alternate obstruction free path. Furthermore, we investigate the performance metrics of the proposed system when the reflected laser beam traverses the turbulent atmosphere. In addition to this, the simulation results demonstrate that an optimal choice of the receiver aperture diameter and the power margin is essential to maintain the system BER and outage. Based on the analytical analysis, the proposed FSO system configuration is found to be efficient in bridging communication between the end-to-end FSO nodes, even when the direct line-of-sight is unavailable. |
