Massive amount of remote wireless communication devices have been deployed in power grid to transmit data of different services between terminals and service stations using wireless technologies including GPRS/LTE. While these terminals facilitate the plug and play application of various services, an essential challenge emerges as the opeartion and maintenance of these terminals require an efficient and effective device management method. This paper proposes a remote wirelss communication device management protocol to enable the device to periodically report its communication status such as signal strength, location, data usage, alert information to an management system. An implementation and verification platform is also developed, thus achieving standard and unified management of remote wireless communication devices. |
