Scintigraphy of salivary glands after the injection of 123I-SAP was performed in 7 patients with systemic amyloidosis and in 3 normal subjects. All had a biopsy of accessory salivary glands (BASG). BASG may be used for diagnosis and scintigraphy with 123I-SAP may be used for locating the extent of systemic amyloidosis. |
