Popis: | Patients with advanced peripheral vascular disease (PVD) and critical limb ischemia (CLI) require immediate revascularization to improve blood flow and prevent amputation. Angiosome directed therapy is a concept in which each vessel is responsible for supplying an anatomical section of an organ. The supply extends from deep structures such as the bone all the way to the skin. Patients with CLI have multiple comorbidities. Targeted therapy aimed at treating the vessel responsible for the patients’ symptoms will ultimately improve outcomes. In this chapter, we describe a case where the angiosome concept was used to guide the revascularization process. The case is outlined in a stepwise fashion describing the thought process of the operators. |
