The article investigates the issue of consolidating the international community's efforts to ensure the legal protection of intellectual property. In particular, the author found that attempts to address the issue of the legal protection of intellectual property at the national level of individual countries are inefficient and lead to several problems. In this regard, the author emphasized the expediency of ensuring the legal protection of intellectual property through the consolidation of efforts of the international community to ensure the legal protection of intellectual property. Examples of such consolidation are given, among which the following are singled out: first, adoption, as universal international normative legal acts, secondly, adoption of regional international normative legal acts; third, the adoption of special international regulations in areas of intellectual property administered by the World Intellectual Property Organization, as well as the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights under the World Trade Organization, the International Convention for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants, adopted by the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties; fourth, creation of international organizations aimed at ensuring the legal protection of intellectual property and their further activities. Particular attention is paid to The United Nations, which brings together several international organizations working in areas that directly affect the international intellectual property regime. At the same time, the author emphasized that one of the most influential and essential organizations working at the UN is WIPO, which plays a significant role in the legal protection of intellectual property worldwide. After all, its activities aim to promote the balanced development of the international regulatory framework for intellectual property, the provision of high-quality services in global systems of intellectual property protection, taking into account the specific needs of individual member states. The importance of WIPO's cooperation with the WTO and UNESCO is noted. |
