Sensitive magnetic susceptibility measurements on NbSe 3 reveal a large temperature dependent diamagnetism and flux trapping below about 2K. Flux exclusion is enhanced by etching and compacting the polycrystalline samples, as expected for a weakly coupled assembly of superconducting crystallites. Single crystal resistivity measurements reveal an anomaly at 2K, which is depressed in temperature by applied magnetic fields. However, the temperature and field dependence of the resistivity, especially the fact that it does not vanish, are not explained. |
