Kinetic experiments of mineral dissolution (albite, actinolite, calcite, fluorite) were carried out using a flow-through experimental reactor (packed bed reactor) in an open system in the temperature range 25 to 400°C and at 22 MPa. It was found that a wide fluctuation in albite (or actinolite) dissolution rates occurred near to the critical point of water. Albite and actinolite dissolution were always incongruent in water at most temperatures, but became congruent at 300°C (near to the critical point, 374°C). And, the maximum dissolution rate occurs in this case. The incongruent dissolution of albite (or actinolite) shows that Na and Al (or, Ca, Mg, Fe, Al) easier dissolve and enter to water in the temperature range from 25 to 300°C than Si. As temperature increases from 300°C to 400°C, the Si more easily dissolves than other elements. Maximum dissolution rates of calcite and fluorite in water are in the temperature range 200 to I O O T , much lower than the critical temperature of water. |
