Asimulation model has been developed to describe the mechanical potting of container plants. The model was designed to analyze the existing relation-ships in an operating system and to evaluate the effect of changes and/or improvements upon the system. The model maintains statistics on the status and activity of the potting machine, transport vehicles, and system output. Data from real-life operations were used to validate the model and the output from the validation runs was found to compare quite favorably with the observed data. |
