Popis: | A description is provided for Phoma septicidalis . Information is included on the disease caused by the organism, its transmission, geographical distribution, and hosts. DISEASE: Little information available, probably a soil-borne saprobe and opportunistic pathogen. HOSTS: On a wide range of dead or damaged plant tissues. From dead stems of Helianthus and Sedum , dead leaves of Hoya , wood of Pyrus , also from soil (including greenhouses) and air samples (BOEREMA & DORENBOSCH, 1979). GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION: AFRICA: South Africa. EUROPE: Germany, Netherlands. TRANSMISSION: Soil-borne, but little else is known of other possible vectors. |
