Popis: | We propose a microscopic theory of the normal state transport in copper oxides based on the bipolaron theory which describes qualitatively the temperature ({ital T}) and doping ({ital x}) dependence of the in-plane {rho}{sub {ital ab}} and out-of-plane {rho}{sub {ital c}} resistivity and the spin susceptibility {chi}{sub {ital s}} in underdoped, optimally doped, and not very heavily overdoped La{sub 2{minus}{ital x}}Sr{sub {ital x}}CuO{sub 4} for the temperature range from {ital T}{sub {ital c}} up to 600K. A free parameter relation between the anisotropy and the spin susceptibility is derived, {rho}{sub {ital c}}({ital T},{ital x})/{rho}{sub {ital ab}}({ital T},{ital x}){approximately}{ital x}/{ital T}{sup 1/2}{chi}{sub {ital s}}({ital T},{ital x}), which agrees quantitatively with the experiment. The normal state gap is explained and its doping and temperature dependence clarified. {copyright} {ital 1996 The American Physical Society.} |
