Reactions of tributyltin isopropoxide and ethoxide with amides (RCONH 2 ) in different molar ratios yield products of the type RCONH 2− x (SnBu 3 ) x (R = CH 3 ; CH 2 ; CH; C 6 H 5 and x = 1, 2). These derivatives are volatile with the exception of the benzamide derivatives, which decompose on being heated to ~ 210°C under vacuum. The structures of the compounds are discussed in the light of their physical and chemical properties. |
