Popis:	A dose of ca. 2000 krad was required to kill bacteria in media prepared from homogenized 3rd-instar screwworm larvae, Cochliomyia hominivorax (Coquerel), and in sterile whole and defibrinated blood. The production of substances attractive to screwworm flies was reduced when the media were irradiated at 2000 krad in 60Co gamma ray source. However, blood irradiated at 20 krad then inoculated and incubated was more attractive than unirradiated and incubated blood.
