The aim of this study is to investigate civic attitudes of adolescents and the role of congruency of three different contexts: civic attitudes of parents, friends and classmates. Previous research on adolescents' civic attitudes shows the relative importance of each context, but empirical evidence on the synergic relation between parents, friends and classmates and the role of congruency is scarce. Therefore, we aim to answer the following research question: To what extent is the relation between civic attitudes of adolescents and the civic attitudes of their parents, friends and classmates strengthened by the degree of congruency between attitudes, and by the quality of the relationship between the adolescent and parents, friends and classmates? |
