The article is devoted to the issues of hemodynamic changes in glaucoma. 115 patients with primary open-angle glaucoma of different stages of the disease were examined using duplex scanning of the vessels of the eye and orbit. Based on their own research and reports of other authors, an original hypothesis of the pathogenesis of primary open-angle glaucoma is proposed. Programmed degenerative changes of the optic nerve in the early stages of the disease lead to an increase in the blood flow rate in the orbital artery basin, then a cascade of clinical events is caused, leading to glaucoma atrophy of the optic nerve. |
