Popis: | This article describes the development, implementation, and evaluation of military-relevant team-based educational modules delivered to an outpatient, interprofessional, rehabilitation, traumatic brain injury (TBI) team treating veterans with TBI and other co-morbidities. The three team-based modules included topics on pathophysiology/symptomatology, behavioral/mental health, interprofessional practice, and case management/community reintegration. Material was developed by university faculty and reviewed by military health experts. A cohort of fifteen health professionals and administrative staff in the interprofessional rehabilitation practice received the classroom and online education over six weeks including simulations with veteran standardized patients. The measurements of knowledge gain, evaluation of learning objectives, and staff satisfaction included the administration of pre- and post-tests and program evaluations. The learners demonstrated increased knowledge gain across modules, and health professions expressed satisfaction with interprofessional discussions facilitated in the classroom and post-simulation debriefings. |
