Popis: A field experiment was carried out during summer season in Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, Assam to assess the physiological efficiency of seven blackgram genotypes under rainfed situation and to evaluate this response under foliar application of boron in respect to growth and yield. The treatments comprised of control (T1), foliar application of 100 ppm boron at 20 DAS (T2) and foliar application of 100 ppm boron both at 20 and 35 DAS (T3). Significant variations were recorded in growth and yield development among all the tested genotypes. Highest plant dry matter, harvest index and seed yield were recorded in USJD-113. The yield attributing characters like number of pods per plant and number of seeds per pod were higher in USJD-113 followed by SB-121-36. Foliar applicative of boron caused significant alteration in vegetative and reproductive physiology of all the genotypes. The treatment T3 was found to be more effective in enhancing the growth and yield characters as compared to T2. Genotypes USJD-113 and SB-121-36 were found to be more responsive for boron applicative.
