Popis: The German Philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer claimed in the mid of the 19th century that Mathematics is of only minor profundity because arithmetic can be done by machines. Now we know that machines can do calculations even better than humans. Nowadays, machines can translate language, play chess, control factories, steer cars and many other things which we usually call intelligent behavior. Throughout centuries people were interested in such machines with intelligent behavior. But could machines think like humans? Alan Turing has proposed his famous Turing Test. Some people still do not believe in the power of his test. They argue that a machine can pass the test by a human like conversation without understanding anything, simply by a perfect imitation. The talk will discuss this topic and give examples what machines can do and what machines still can't do.
