Popis: | The pH, pCO 2 and plasma CO 2 content of arterial or arterialised venous blood were measured on 144 samples from 42 subjects and the apparent plasma carbonic acid p K ( p K ′) was calculated. The mean p K ′ was 6.086, S.D. 0.026 and the range was 6.019–6.228. The p K ' values of the bloods of three patients whose chemical composition was very abnormal were: 5.96, 6.03 and 6.03. The implications of these findings for laboratory and clinical practice are briefly discussed. |
