Popis:	Starting from the question how the mutual cancellation of opposite-phase plane waves is compatible with the conservation of energy, the energy flow of interfering electromagnetic waves is investigated. Furthermore, it is shown how a multipole expansion can be used to demonstrate that a complete compensation of the electromagnetic radiation of two separated sources is not possible for energetic reasons.
