Popis: myeloperoxidase and α -naphthyl butyrate esterase staining. Surface marker analyses with three-color fl ow cytometry by CD45/side scatter gating revealed that immature cells (76.9% of all bone marrow cells) were positive ( 20%) for CD4 (25.3%), CD13 (86.7%), CD33 (100.0%) and CD34 (99.2%). Considering cytogenetic abnormalities and MLL rearrangements described below, we made a diagnosis of AML with a variant MLL translocation in the World Health Organization classification, or AML M4 in the French – American – British classification. Induction therapy with idarubicin and cytosine arabinoside was started, and the patient achieved a hematological complete remission (CR). However, she suffered from severe pneumonia and heart failure, and died of multiple organ failure 2 months after the initial diagnosis. Chromosome analysis of the bone marrow cells at the initial diagnosis showed 50,XX, 4, 6, 8,?t(10;11)(p12;q14)
