Popis:	This chapter provides a survey of the current economic situation in Latin America with a brief outline of some basic data and a description of some major issues. The first issue is the rising importance of the translatinas, transnational corporations headquartered in Latin America. Next we consider some important sources of capital flows at present: China, remittances, and venture capital. We end with a brief look at the situation in Argentina and the impact of the novel coronavirus.
