This work, design and development of an agricultural engineering system are to support farmers. A real-time process control station, solar power plant and ZigBee station along with programmable logic control-human–machine interface (PLC-HMI) are fabricated. Water, pesticides and sufficient nutrients will be sprinkled automatically by PLC at desired intervals of time and emergency circumstances. Utilizing this agricultural engineering system, the depletion of soil fertility and nutrients in the soil will be balanced by sprinkling organic nutrients. The soil pH value is retained by getting actual soil pH value based on continuous feedback from soil pH sensor for avoiding low and high soil pH value. The infection in the crops will be eradicated by sprinkling organic pesticides. To maintain soil moisture, anemometer, air and humidity sensor are utilized for precise water sprinkling. All the sensors in the agriculture field will be communicated to the control room using ZigBee-based wireless sensor network (WSN). Using HMI, sprinkling of water, nutrients and pesticides will be monitored. During emergency, sprinkling can be performed by pressing button in HMI. As outcome of this system, the farmers’ field stress will be reduced with additional benefits such as high harvest and efficient water consumption. |
