Popis:	We describe the synthesis of a series of new unsymmetrically substituted tetraselena- and dithiadiselenafulvalenes bearing one or two functionalities such as diethylacetal, formyl or hydroxymethyl groups. The physical properties and spectroscopic data of these new π-donors are reported.
