Popis: | The recent changes in power systems generation and operation necessitate a reliable and secure power system communication solution. Such a solution should include necessary infrastructure as well as relevant building blocks such as software, models and message frameworks. Of the standardization efforts in the smart grid domain, IEC 61850 holds a special place due to its widespread use and strong potential for extensions. It has a robust modeling structure that allows for new additions. This allows IEC 61850 to keep up with the recent changes in smart grids, a field where most other standards fail. It is important to have necessary modeling and testing tools to run experiments on IEC 61850 models and their message exchanges. This paper gives the details of a cross-border collaboration to achieve integrated testing facility for IEC 61850 based communication. |
