Popis: | The massive expansion of mobile technologies is leading to a digital revolution that is reshaping health education for improved population-level health outcomes. This study investigated the analysis and design of a mobile health (mHealth) intervention for community-wide education. Hence, we employed a design science approach capable of translating health and community activities into practical design guidelines for suitable interventions to improve knowledge and skills among working adults. An mHealth artifact was developed for a Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) prevention program on awareness, knowledge, stress and lifestyle management. The effectiveness of the artifact was demonstrated through a pilot randomized, controlled trial (RCT) with 80 participants as an imperative empirical evidence. The study, therefore, contributed to the cumulative theoretical development of HCI, mobile health, and public health education. Moreover, our findings provided a number of insights for academic bodies, health practitioners, and developers of mobile health in planning educational interventions for smartphone users. |
