Saúde mental e aplicação penal: destino de presos considerados inimputáveis

Popis: Objective: To verify the destination of subjects rated unimputable analyzing determining features of possible outcomes. Methods: The sample included 76 mentally ill offenders, whose forensic psychiatric examinations were conducted between 2012 and 2013 in forensic regional center in Para state. A review of the medical records was performed, using a protocol containing the variables to be studied. It was used chi-square test and Fisher’s exact test. Results: The subjects were mainly males (89.5), studied up to primary school (55.3), prevalence of flagitious crimes (51.3). The crosses of variables that were statistically significant: preponderance of flagitious crimes committed by mentally ill offenders subjected to inpatient treatment (44.7) and a significant prevalence of inpatient treatment for those diagnosed with psychotic disorders (39.5) and both psychoactive substance abuse and a significant prevalence of inpatient treatment for those diagnosed with psychotic disorders (39.5) and both psychoactive substance abuse and mental disability (13.2). Conclusion: The mental health detention measure was more frequent among the mentally ill offenders, for the psychotic disorders justified such security measure. Only the type of crime and the psychotic disorders group were determining over security measure type. Following these patients is of uttermost importance and must be done since the basic health levels, thus, minimizing the risks of negative outcomes.
