Popis: | An 11-month-old boy presented with severe anemia was diagnosed as having a large cystic lymphangioma of the omentum and successfully treated by surgery. He was admitted to the hospital because of pale face and abdominal distension. Hemoglobin level was 5.1g/dl showing severe anemia. Ultrasound echogram and CT scan of the abdomen revealed a huge multilobular cystic mass. After transfusion to improve the anemia, a laparotomy was performed under a diagnosis of omental cyst or mesenteric cyst. The multilobular omental cyst was resected which was 20×15×6cm in size and contained about 2, 200ml of dark brown serous fluid. The histological diagnosis was cystic lymphangioma. This is the forth report of omental cyst which was presented with severe anemia due to intracystic bleeding in Japan. |
