Popis: | Kidney failure is an important health issue all over the world. Therefore effective treatment strategies need to be developed to cure acute kidney failure. Ischemia initiates a series of biochemical reactions that may end up with cellular dysfunction and ultimate cell death via diminishing cellular energy level and accumulating toxic subtances. Tissue and organ death is therefore an inevitable result due to added harms exerted by neutrophils, which arose following reperfusion and released mediators. In this study we estimated the percentage of poliferative, necrotic and apoptotic cell death in a kidney ischemia/reprfusion model using Wistar albino rats. Ischemia was conducted in left kidney while the right ones served as control. The presence of the apoptotic cell was investigated in reperfused kidney. Our study was extended to cover testing the effect of antioxidant agent, N-acetylcystein on apoptosis. We showed that a reperfusion with a 60 mins duration following a 60 mins of ischemia triggered apoptosi... |
